Emu Bay Holiday Homes is located on five acres overlooking the beautiful Emu Bay. We have two cabins, two cottages, three houses and an apartment. All the units are spread out over five acres of beautiful gardens.

For singles, couples, and small families we suggest the Cabins, Cottage 3 or Bayview apartment.
Next, owners Graham and Dianne Morris (2000-2004) and Anne and Theo Horbelt (2004-2018) managed the 5-acre property until Johannes and Renè Steyn fell in love with the views, peace and tranquility that Emu Bay Holiday Homes offers. They bought it in March 2018. Johannes and Renè have called Kangaroo Island home since 2008, working as a medical doctor and physio in the community. They love island life, including fishing in the pristine waters that surround Kangaroo Island.

Johannes and Renè have invested in renovating the entire property, developing accessible accommodation and improving the customer experience. They enjoy sharing the property with their guests and meeting them in person. Their fulfilment lies in happy guests whose expectations are exceeded.

When you feel like eating out without going out, you can order meals through Lucy from KI Kitchen, to be placed in your unit for heating or BBQ at your convenience.
Easy, contactless check-in
Self check-in gives you great flexibility to enjoy some sights along the way on your day of arrival as you don’t have to check in by a specific time. While this low-touch tourism provides for greater safety, staff are always ready to assist as they are just a phone call away.

Access needs
The main house, Amani, is wheelchair-friendly with a full wheelchair-accessible bathroom. All other units excluding the two cabins have a rail in the shower.
The two cabins also have a set of stairs at their entrance.

Two friends and I spend 3 lovely nights in a cabin at Emu Bay Holiday Homes over the final weekend of October. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. Rene warmly welcomed us on arrival and provided us with some great local tips. The cabin was well equipped and had everything we needed for a home away from home experience. We had a fantastic five night stay with four other friends in Jireh House. Spotlessly clean and well appointed it was great location to enjoy the views set among beautiful gardens with numerous colourful flowering plants. Mornings and evenings on the front verandah were memorable in the tranquil setting with numerous birds using the bird bath or feeding on the flowers. Easy access to Island attractions. Great assistance and communication with all our arrangements from Christine and Rene. We’ll definitely recommend it to friends and return some time.

Beautiful grounds for taking a walk and enjoying the Australian flora and fauna. Spotting koalas in the trees near the house was a highlight.
